Philharmonic building pink again

This year edition of European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week occurs 18th-24th January and its aim is to spread knowledge about cervical cancer and to promote regular cervical smear tests among women as the best method of preventing this type of cancer.

Szczecin Philharmonic, thanks to courtesy of Siteco company, joins the activities carried out by the Szczecin branch of the International Association of Medical Students IFMSA-Poland. On January 24th, after the sunset, we will glow pink to highlight the importance of prophylaxis with them.

Cervical cancer affects nearly one and a half million women worldwide. Only in Poland, several thousand patients a year hear such a diagnosis. An early diagnosis of cervical cancer gives a good chance of being completely cured.

Unfortunately, as the disease is often asymptomatic, it is detected in the advanced stage and very difficult to cure among many patients. However, worth mentioning is the fact, that regular smear tests allow early detection of cancer and effective therapy. Find out more on zwrotnikraka.pl

In recent months, due to the pandemic, the number of diagnostic tests performed, including cytological tests, which are able to protect women from developing cervical cancer, has significantly decreased. That is why we support activities related to the European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week,and we would like to encourage to take part in #pinkchallenge- to remind women that even during a pandemic, we must not forget about regular testing.
