The choir was established by young conductor Endrik Üksvärav in October 2010, and has been winning hearts and gaining awards all over the world. The choir's repertoire is wide, ranging from Renaissance songs to contemporary music. Three artists have a special place in the ensemble: neoclassicist Arvo Pärt, one of the greatest choral composers Veljo Tormis, and Erkii-Sven Tüür who is connected with the rock scene.
Collegium Musicale are true ambassadors of Estonian music. The choir cooperates with orchestras and ensembles from all over the world, not just from their home town of Tallin. They have performed for audiences in Italy, France, Germany, Malta and Japan. The Estonian Choral Association has twice awarded Collegium Musicale ‘Choir of the Year’, 2011 and 2014. Their album ‘Peegel peeglis’, which includes Arvo Pärt's compositions, received an award for the best album with choral music in Estonia in 2012.
