Annika Kukkonen, MMus, studied music education at the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki and is finishing her studies at the Master’s Programme of Creative Well-being at the Turku University of Applied Sciences. She has worked as the head of education and outreach at the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra since 2013. Annika Kukkonen has extensive experience of developing orchestras’ outreach programmes in Finland and abroad. During her residency at The Finnish Institute in London Producers’ House in 2019 Annika began together with Orchestras Live, UK and The Association of Finnish Symphony Orchestras a project that aims to develop the work of orchestras with elderly people in Finland and Great Britain. Annika Kukkonen has also been the Chair of The Association of Finnish Symphony Orchestras’ Outreach forum and is Finland’s representative in the Nordic Outreach committee since 2014.
