Jakub Stefek - Marketing Specialist
He is a concert organist and audience development specialist, a graduate of instrumental studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and postgraduate management studies at the Warsaw School of Economics. He currently works as a lecturer at the Art Academy of Szczecin, and as an organist at the Pestalozzistrasse Synagogue in Berlin. He also collaborates with the Programming Dept. and the Promotion Centre of the Philharmonic Hall in Szczecin. He is a PhD student at the Digital Economy Research Department of the University of Economics in Katowice.
Since 2017, Jakub Stefek has been active as an artist in the field of Jewish organ music. In February 2018, he was a participant in the first concert in the post-war history of Warsaw synagogues, during which organ pieces were performed. In the same year, he initiated the annual festival "Jewish Music Days in Szczecin". Since 2019, he has been working with Cantor Isidoro Abramowicz, director of cantorial studies at the Rabbinical School Abraham Geiger Kolleg in Berlin. He has performed with an artistic program entitled "Music of the New Synagogue" in concerts in more than a dozen cities in Poland.
One of his greatest interests is the performing arts marketing. He has taken part in artistic and scientific conferences and cooperated with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, the Museum of the History of Polish Jews POLIN, the International Festival of Choir Song in Międzyzdroje and the Polish Association of Choirs and Orchestras. He was a speaker at TEDx Warsaw 2015, where his talk on the inspiration of the organ instrument was listened to live by several thousand people. Working with the Mieczyslaw Karlowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin, he conducts audience research, writes and edits texts and popular science publications, and works on artistic and educational projects. Since 2017, he has been a board member of the SPOT.ON ART Foundation based in Szczecin, within which he has conducted eight art projects.
